EMSA approved for Daycare / Childcare Pediatric CPR and First Aid (8 hour) class is a comprehensive, EMSA approved course based on the latest AHA (American Heart Association) Cardiac Care Guidelines. This course meets AB 243 and SB 1524 requirements. This course includes: Scene Assessment, Legal Issues, Blood Borne Pathogens, Anatomy and Physiology, Heart Attack and Stroke, C-A-B, Adult, Child and Infant CPR, Adult, Child and Infant Obstructed Airway Care, CPR Barrier Devices, AED Overview and Rescuer Stress. Patient Illness or Injury Assessment, Vital Signs, Bleeding Control, Shock, Head and Neck Injuries, Lifting and Moving, Fractures, Burns and Electrical Injuries, Abdominal Wounds, Diabetes, Mouth, Teeth and Nose Injuries, Eye Injuries, Triage, Seizures, Poisoning, Drug and Alcohol Emergencies, Heat and Cold Emergencies, Water Safety, Drowning/Near Drowning, Allergic Reaction, Bites and Stings. We also include comprehensive Asthma Curriculum which includes Nebulizer and Inhaled Medication Training. Additional Topics include; Indoor Safety, Playground Safety, Recognizing Maltreatment of Children, and Dehydration.
After completion of this class, participants will feel confidently trained to quickly and effectively respond to a wide range of life threatening medical emergencies as well as heart attack, stroke or choking emergencies.
Course includes: 2 Year Certification Card.
NOTE: California Childcare Providers and Preschool Teachers who have taken the initial 8 hour Pediatric CPR/First Aid course must re-certify every 2 years with a full 8 Hour Pediatric CPR/First Aid course per California law AB 243 and SB 1524.
